Pride and Prejudice thoughts

kiriel123mmmmmkay in almost every untamed/mdzs pride and prejudice au Lan Wangji is cast as Mr Darcy which makes sense when it comes to characterization, but also I cannot stop thinking about Elizabeth!lwj looking at Darcy!wwx in the pouring rain and hissing /I refuse to marry you/ and then later realizing actually he's in love with darcy!wwx and thinking oh no I fucked up oh shit.
At first I was like obviously the Jiangs would be the equivalent of the Bingleys if wwx was darcy but since I wanted lan xichen/nie mingjue as my side pairing, I changed it so that Nie Mingjue is Bingley and Nie Huaisang is Caroline, who is certainly sneaky enough to only want the best for his brother.
With the Lan family being the Bennett equivalents, I then chose to make Meng Yao be Charlotte instead of Wickham. I made Collins Su She, which honestly fits so well.
Wickham then becamse Jin Zixun, even though Jin Zixun is not charming or handsome enough to really pull off Wickham's dastardly character, he still fit the qualification of shitty cousin. And he screwed over Jiang Yanli (aka Georgina) who was supposed to marry Jin Zixuan (does not exist in original p&p but I love him so he's here) by causing rumors and gossip about her (they still work it out in the end, and there is no Lydia so no one ends up marrying Jin Zixun). Jin Zixun does of course slander darcy!wwx's name to elizabeth!lwj.
I guess Madam Yu fits as Lady Catherine de bourgh but I really wanted her to be Jin Guangshan for some reason. It doesn't really fit the narrative but it's not like I'm actually writing this just thinking about lwj and wwx having charged conversations and lwj disdaining everything wwx does and both of them falling headfirst into love and not even realizing it until later.
This does make Lan Qiren Mrs Bennet, determined to get the best for his nephews no matter what!
In other news, today at my company they had people sign up to work on six sigma projects to reduce inefficiencies or whatever and one of the teams decided to name themselves Slick Sigma. I was like...are you sure, you're not worried that there might be mmmmmm colloquial connotations you're not thinking of and they were like what do you mean, we are slick it is a pun!
I was like nope, I've already taken too much psychic damage in this conversation I will not be explaining any alternate definitions of slick, and they picked their name and now that will go on all their presentations to the company and executive team. So now I know that 1)either none of them are in fandom at all or 2)if someone is in fandom they are a gigantic troll.
