Regarding the fic drop, that's a good point fandom events may be taking time! I haven't noticed it too much because whenever I sit down to read, there's plenty of backlog to catch up on. I wonder if it's that more established writers in the fandom are branching out like you said. The whole twitter mess in general is probably also scattering people so maybe it just feels less cohesive to that corner of fandom. Side note but keraunography was so good I was kicking my feet every update even the painful ones!
Kinnporsche on first watch gave me intense second hand embarrassment, I think I skipped at least 50% of eps 1 and 2 and watched some later ones through my fingers. And the couple dynamic is very different from obsessed/in love wangxian which is why I didn't think it would stick but something in it pinged my fandom brain and got me by the end of the show.
